ABOUT

About FLAWU

Who are we?

FLAWU is a legal consultancy and documentation services practice based in Malaysia. We support individuals and businesses across the contract lifecycle — from drafting and review through to risk analysis, commercial structuring, data protection compliance, and post-signing documentation. Our approach is built around the practical realities of how deals actually get done. We work with founders, in-house legal teams, and overseas counterparties who need senior-level legal documentation that reflects commercial intent, manages risk sensibly, and stands up to scrutiny without unnecessary cost or friction.

Our Approach

How we work?

Every engagement begins with understanding the commercial objective. Legal documentation that ignores the underlying deal economics, the operating relationship, or the regulatory backdrop tends to fail at the point it matters most.Four principles guide our work:
1. Commercial alignment. Drafting reflects what the parties actually intend, not what is easy to copy from a template.
2. Risk allocation that survives negotiation. Protective clauses that hold up under counterparty review rather than collapsing in round one.3. Cross-border readiness. Documentation that works across Malaysian, ASEAN, and Greater China contexts, with appropriate dispute resolution and governing law structuring.4. Plain, useable output. Word documents your team can adapt, sign, and file without re-drafting.

Services

What We Do

FLAWU provides legal consultancy and documentation services across eight focus areas. Each engagement is scoped to the specific deliverable required — whether that is a single contract review, a complete documentation package, or ongoing legal support across a transaction. We do not provide court representation or formal legal opinions reserved to admitted advocates and solicitors. For matters requiring such representation, we are happy to refer clients to suitable Malaysian Bar practitioners.
